Newman Student Ministry Center | Oshkosh, WI

In 2008, Ganther was chosen to construct phase one of the new Newman Center, a student ministry center adjacent to the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh campus. The facility includes library/meeting space, conference room, a kitchen, spacious student lounge, and three offices. A 150-seat chapel is planned for phase two of the project. The Catholic campus ministry began on the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in 1907 with the establishment of the Marquette Club. The name was changed in 1949 as the “Newman” movement swept the nation. The name “Newman” is credited to Oshkosh resident, Dr. T.L. Harrington, who was involved in Catholic campus ministry and named the movement after Cardinal John Henry Newman.
